Finished midtable last season, which was about fair for them. Had to stick together near the end of the campaign to ensure that they weren't dragged into the relegation scrap but they managed that rather convincingly in the end. Would have liked to have finished further up the ladder but ending up conceding more goals than they were used to. Have almost exclusively only played derbies ahead of their campaign. That, fused with minimal changes to their squad, should ensure that they're one of the most ready teams to participate in La Liga this season. They've not been amazing in said friendlies but have been typically hard to defeat, and that should continue throughout their campaign. Should be able to start the season really strongly because they've barely made any changes to their squad whatsoever. Could find themselves without Oroz at the start of the campaign due to his participation at the Olympics but, other than that, they're in a great position. Even long-term absentee Kike Barja is back in training, although it's unlikely he'll feature for some time to come and, even if he does, he's unlikely to be the same wide threat that he used to be. Depth will be an issue for them as the season goes on. They needed to reinforce more than they did. Will still be incredibly hard to beat, given their overly competitive nature, and they've got a good squad of experienced individuals to call upon. Changing games that aren't going their way, or rotating their squad when fatigue kicks in - that's where they're going to struggle.

Target

Another midtable finish has to be on the horizon. They've not improved their squad so a higher finish is wildly unrealistic. With only one substantial player loss though, they should not finish any lower.
