In Brief

Held to a draw at home by Ajax. Kingsley Coman, Rafinha and Corentin Tolisso remain out injured. Rafinha also expected to miss out. Mats Hummels fit

Looking Back

Bayern's dip in form extended to three games as they failed to win once again despite having grabbed an early lead only to be held to a 1-1 draw by Ajax in their Champions League clash.

Bayern have not been at their dominant best in their last couple of games and have already surrendered their top spot in the Bundesliga table after picking up a solitary point from two games, with failure to put their chances away proving to be costly for the defending champions.

Looking Ahead

Next up is a game at home to Borussia Monchengladbach and coach Niko Kovac will have Hummels available after the defender overcame a header injury sustained against Ajax

There are no other injury concerns with Rafinha, Coman and Tolisso all long term absentees and will not be available for Saturday

Points of Interest

Have not been at their best playing hosts to Gladbach in recent seasons, winning just three times and losing two of the last seven meetings at the Allianz Arena.

Borussia Monchengladbach

In Brief

Wasted two leads in the last round. Josip Drmic and Raffael missed out due to injury last time out. Louis Bayer also has to sit out. Lars Stindl will continue to monitored this week.

Looking Back

Gladbach led twice against Wolfsburg last weekend, but only ended up with a draw to show for their efforts, though they are now in fourth spot.

Summer signing Alassane Plea is already showing his worth to the team having scored 4 so far this season, 3 of which in the last 3 games. Thorgan Hazard also has 3 in his last 3.

Gladbach have yet to win a match in which they have gone behind and also give up leads too easily. They have been ahead in 5 matches, but have only won 3 of them.

Dieter Hecking's side has scored the most headed goals in the league so far. 9 of their 12 goals have come in the second half.

Looking Ahead

Strikers Josip Drmic and Raffael remain unavailable at the moment through injury. Both of them had hoped to be back already, but their problems have continued to trouble them.

Right back Louis Beyer was withdrawn late before the Bayer game due to a hip strain that flared up in the final training session. He is not able to feature in this match meaning Michael Lang will start again which will be a big challenge for him having only just returned to first team football.

Captain Lars Stindl has slowly been working his way back from a serious injury he picked up at the end of last season. He was in the squad last weekend, but was not used and will continue to monitored this week.

Points of Interest

Although Gladbach's away record against Bayern can hardly be described as being strong, they have managed better than most teams against the top team in the league in recent seasons. In their last 10 away they have won twice and drawn twice.
