Middlesbrough frustrated at home to Rotherham. Ryan Shotton ruled out.
Middlesbrough suffered a disappointing goalless draw at home to Rotherham on Tuesday. In truth they did not deserve any more from that game and on another day may have even lost. That draw has certainly given boss Tony Pulis some food for thought.
They still remain in a strong league position but you could not say that Boro have really hit their stride at any point this season yet.
Ryan Shotton was a big miss on Tuesday and he is again been ruled out for this one with Pulis hinting he will be out for two weeks. But no further problems have been reported and they have a good squad available.
Pulis could consider changes for this one as the changes he made for Tuesday did not really work.
Boro have four wins at home this season with two draws and just one loss.
Derby hit form with amazing win at West Brom. George Evans, Marcus Olsson, Joe Ledley and George Thorne injured. Craig Bryson and Scott Malone doubtful.
Confidence at Derby is sky high now after they hammered West Brom 4-1 away on Wednesday. It was a superb performance and they were 2-0 up after 15 minutes courtesy of Jack Marriott and Tom Lawrence goals. Harry Wilson and Scott Malone made it 4-0 before Albion pulled one back.
Derby are now up to 5th and two points off the top but they know this is a very difficult fixture indeed.
Boss Frank Lampard has played a bold line-up in the last couple of games with four strikers on Wednesday. He could well go for the same side as long as Scott Malone shakes off a knock.
Elsewhere George Evans, Marcus Olsson, Joe Ledley and George Thorne are all still missing due to injury while additionally Craig Bryson is doubtful.
Derby have three wins, one draw and three losses on the road this term. The Rams won 3-0 at Middlesbrough last season but lost 2-1 at home to Boro.
