Leeds went back to the top of the Championship for a few hours at least as they earned a narrow 1-0 win at Hull in a local derby. Tyler Roberts' goal early in the second half was enough to give them the three points but Marcelo Bielsa will be disappointed with their finish as they could quite easily won this game by a far bigger margin. Hull were again poor and are 21st and could still slip into the bottom three if Millwall win on Wednesday.
Jordy de Wijs was injured so Stephen Kingsley returned in defence for Hull. There were no surprises for Leeds who were again unchanged.
Leeds should have arguably won this game at a canter having dominated the first half but Ezgjan Alioski and Barry Douglas both missed excellent chances.
However the visitors broke the deadlock six minutes after the restart as Roberts scored a brilliant goal from outside the area for his third of the season.
Hull had earlier lost Jackson Irvine to injury and this simply was not their day. They did not offer a lot going forward but Bailey Peacock-Farrell needed to be at his best late on to keep out an effort from Nouha Dicko.
More concern for Hull who really did not offer much at all in this one as their struggles in front of goal continue. A workmanlike performance for Leeds but Bielsa was not happy with his side's finishing, an area that needs major improvement.
