Leeds rescued a late point against Brentford in a high quality encounter. Neal Maupay's second half penalty appeared to be giving the Bees a sensational win. But Pontus Jansson levelled late for Leeds, who had Luke Ayling sent off in the dying stages, although Marcelo Bielsa's side have now dropped to 3rd in the table as a result. Brentford are 6th.

Marcelo Bielsa likes to keep an unchanged side but he was forced into one change as Stuart Dallas came in for the injured Barry Douglas at left back. Dallas is a former Brentford player. The Bees made four changes to their side, Moses Odubajo making his second full league debut for the club while Nico Yennaris, Kamohelo Mokotjo and Ollie Watkins all started too.

Both sides certainly went for it in an entertaining first half. Neal Maupay was denied by a brilliant save by Bailey Peacock-Farrell as the visitors took the game to their hosts. Ollie Watkins also saw an effort deflected onto the bar.

At the other end Tyler Roberts was denied by a decent stop by Luke Daniels while Samuel Saiz missed a cracking shot just before the break.

Brentford were rewarded for their fearless attitude when they took the lead on 62 minutes, Maupay scoring his 10th of the season from the spot with the decision controversial with Bailey Peacock-Farrell maybe wrongly adjudged to have brought down Watkins.

Leeds kept going though as they lay siege on Brentford's goal with Kalvin Phillips hitting the post, a leveller coming on 88 minutes as Jansson headed in from Ezgjan Alioski's cross. Right at the end though Ayling was given his marching orders for a second bookable offence for a foul on Bees sub Alan Judge.

A strong display by both sides. Leeds will be pleased with their fightback and happy enough with a point in the end. Brentford will be disappointed not to hold on after really taking the game to their hosts. They are certainly a side making progress.
