FC Dallas made it three wins out of three at home as they cruised to another comfortable victory with a convincing display in a 4-1 win over Colorado Rapids
Both the teams were quick out of their blocks and while Dallas were looking more threatening, with Tessmann and Barrios forcing sharp saves out of Irwin from long range, it was Colorado who went the closest to grabbing an early lead only for Lewis to be denied by the woodwork
The tempo dropped off after the quick start though Colorado slowly started to take control of the proceedings as the half wore on but with little luck.
Just when it looked the teams would be heading into the break on level terms, Dallas managed to find the breakthrough four minutes from the halftime whistle when Barrios squared the ball for Mosquera to hook in a shot which left Irwin rooted to the spot
Dallas continued to attack in the second half and after Hollingshead had forced another sharp save out of Irwin, the hosts all but put the result beyond doubt before the hour mark with Jara and Mosquera both finding the back of the net.
The twin strikes forced a host of changes from Colorado and the visitors improved to get a goal back through Shinyashiki but that proved to be nothing more than a consolation goal with Mosquera completing his hat trick and restoring Dallas' three goal advantage 12 minutes from time to ensure a comfortable finish to the game
A deserved win for Dallas who were the better team over the course of the 90 minutes and while Colorado did enjoy a decent spell of pressure around the hour mark, it was too little too late and only enough to grab a consolation goal in the end
