Zorya Luhansk were slightly better and registered their second consecutive victory in Europe after beating Leicester City 1-0 thanks to a late goal from substitute Allahyar Sayyadmanesh.

Having already qualified to the knockouts, Leicester City decided to rest several starters and give playing time to Wilfred Ndidi, Ricardo Pereira and Caglar Soyuncu who have just returned from their injuries.

In a game that was played behind closed doors, Leicester City shifted from a back-three to a back-four but saw their centre-back, Soyuncu, limp off the pitch with an injury early in the first half.

Leicester City were superior in the first half an hour but couldn't capitalise as Cengiz Under squandered a one-one-one to put the visitors ahead.

Zorya reacted and could have taken the lead earlier in the game, had not Daniel Ward and the woodwork denied Ciganiks and Yurchenko, respectively.

Although Leicester City struggled to circulate the ball and create in the final third, Wesley Fofana and Kelechi Iheanacho wasted one chance each to help their team escape with a win.

Zorya's only change before stoppage time, Sayyadmanesh, netted the game winner with one of his first touches in the game to give the hosts all three points.

Without several starters, Leicester City could have snatched a victory here as they missed a couple of good chances to score. The win seemed to be destined to go to the team who would score first and Zorya managed to do that late in the game.
