Following a 7-game winless run, the newly promoted BB Erzurum made a terrible start to the season. It was unavoidable to see a coach change then. Coach Mehmet Ozdilek managed to record a 6-game undefeated run after his arrival, but then he did not prevent his team from recording a run of one-victory in 14 fixtures. In March, they made another coach change and appointed coach Hamza Hamzaoglu. He recorded the same amount of victories as the previous 2 coache, but that was not enough to keep them in the Super League.
For any newly promoted team, to increase the squad level is vital. Besides, it should not be short. In the beginning of the season, BB Erzurum failed to reach the desired level in both. During the winter break, they added six players which enabled them to have more options like Eduok, Obertan, Opseth and Rashad Muhammed in the offence zone. Kanstrup’s arrival also enabled Egemen & Lokman find a competitor for the center back, but they did not fail to meet the expectations. They conceded less goals than some surviving teams, but it does not mean anything when you cannot score more goals. If they want to come back to the Super League, they must concentrate on quality and quantity at the same time.
