Inter Turku had another disappointing campaign in 2024. Missed out on Play-off I by a single point. This after an average regular season – 9 wins, 4 draws and 9 defeats. Narrow 0:1 away defeats in 2 of their last 4 matches of the regular season led to this disappointing outcome. Ended up winning Play-off II easily but then the season ended with another narrow away defeat against Haka in the Conference League play-off. African strikers Smith and Botue netted 16 goals between them last year. The former had 9 but he is no longer in the team. Inter had to sell several players to raise cash. This after bad attendance in 2024. Inter Turku had the largest decline in attendance last year and their revenue declined as a result too. Coach Vasara remains in charge but he is under pressure. The fans cited his conservative tactics for their withdrawal from the stadium. In public statement, the owner demanded to see much more aggressive and attacking style of play from Inter in 2025. This was likely why a trio of speed merchants were added to the squad in the winter. All of Essomba, Guei and Tuominen should liven up the attack. No other major new signings were made though with Inter’s financial situation not great. Yli-Kokko arrived only last September but he is now likely to become a regular starter. The young Ghanaian defensive midfielder Ampofo should be used a lot in 2025 too. Ampofo’s presence on the pitch will free the most creative player of the team Krebs to venture forward much more often.

Target

The main goal is to finish in the top 6 and make Play-off I.
