Following a fifth-placed finish during the 2022/23 campaign, Akhmat Grozny failed to reproduce last season, succumbing to a tenth-placed finish. After navigating their way out of a relegation battle, they hope to avoid one altogether this term. Sergey Tashuev was relieved of his duties following a woeful start to the season. Since April, Magomed Adiev has taken the reins at Akhmat. He has made some changes to the side, with Svetoslav Kovachev being the primary addition over the summer so far. He has completed a full move following his initial loan last season. Meanwhile, there have also been a couple of defensive reinforcements, with Aleksandr Zhirov joining from Baltika and Arsen Adamov joining on loan from champions Zenit. Going the other way, Andrey Semenov has been released, and Jasmin Celikovic has returned to parent club FK Tulza City. Vladislav Volkov may see more game time after returning to the club following his loan to Leningradets. Further departures have seen Bi Nene Junior Gbamble join Torpedo Moscow, while Artem Timofeev, Mohammed Konate, and Vladimir Iljin have also left on frees. That means additions will be needed upfront since the club currently lacks much firepower. Gamid Agalarov is currently the only out-and-out striker in the squad.

Target

Avoid a relegation battle and secure a mid-table finish.
