It ended up being a disappointing campaign for Krasnodar as they narrowly missed out on lifting the Russian Premier League trophy by just a single point behind Zenit last term. Vladimir Ivić was surprisingly sacked back in March, while replacement Murad Musaev failed to impress but will remain in charge for the start of the new season. There have also been some considerable changes to the squad, making it seem unlikely that there’ll be another title charge this term. Key players and regulars Matvey Safonov, Sergey Volkov, Kady Borges, and Junior Alonso have all been sold. In terms of incomings, Danila Kozlov will look to provide some help going forward from midfield, while the experienced Fedor Smolov will look to bolster the ranks up top, alongside veteran and star forward Jhon Cordoba. Fellow Veteran Yuriy Dyupin looks to be the replacement for RPL Goalkeeper of the Season Safonov, but Stanislav Agkatsev is also an option. Yuriy Gazinskiy will add some depth to the middle of midfield. Elsewhere, Shapi Suleymanov, Jonathan Okoronkwo and Mihajlo Banajc have all left the club. Despite that, Krasnodar should have enough talent going forward in the form of Eduard Spertsyan and Cordoba. The former was named as RPL Midfielder of the Season last term.

Target

Minimum to secure a top four finish with hopes of mounting a title challenge.
