Grazer AK are delighted to be back in the Bundesliga after winning the title in the division below last season. They've been itching to face big rivals Sturm Graz for a while now, and doing so whilst they're reigning champions will only pour more fuel upon the fire. In terms of squad though, things aren't rosy at the club. They've not lost any of their mainstays, really. The only noteworthy departures have been German attacker Jastremski and fellow countryman Oberleitner in defence but neither could be considered as regulars, per se, although both played their part in the club's promotion. They've tried to be as enterprising as a financially limited club can be with their acquisitions but haven't done anything marvellous just yet. Adding experienced defenders Kreuzriegler & Filipovic at the back could end up being the difference between life and death for them this season, though - they were very good signings. Their other signings have been more opportunitistic and optimistic than anything though. Young Australian FB Italiano is gifted but hasn't played at this level before, and he does struggle with injuries. Cipot has the potential but hasn't played football consistently for a couple of years now, and hasn't played at this level before. Frieser is a safe bet on the wing; consistent and industrious, so he'll be key to all that they do. Vucic could be a good signing if they can keep him fit. Other than that, this team looks pretty average at best. Will need another standout campaign from Maderner, Lichtenberger, and Gantschnig if they're to avoid a quick relegation back to the division below. Keep an eye out for Schiestl; he showed very promising signs toward the end of last season. Without luck though, they are likely to struggle.
