There's a chance that INEOS-owned Lausanne-Sport will feel the burden of expectation this season, which was apparent toward the end of the 23-24 season. They've assembled a good group of players that perform really well together on their day, and they've made some very intelligent signings along the way. Whether they've got the mental strength to push for loftier targets or not this season remains to be seen although if the latter end of their last campaign is anything to go by, then it's a "no". They've had a really good transfer window, getting rid of plenty of deadwood. They've brought in some excellent additions too, including the somewhat controversial signing of Ajdini from bitter rivals Stade Lausanne-Ouchy. He did really well for their now-relegated city rivals last season though, and should help them play with more intensity in attack if Sene isn't in the mood, which happens sometimes. Okou has arrived to bring them width; he's a very gifted footballer but it didn't work out under taskmaster Frick at Luzern - it could in a more adventurous attacking team here though. Mouanga has joined to further strengthen an already rock-solid defence too, and Polster joined from Austria Vienna to lend them energy in wide areas although whether they can overcome his attitude problems remains to be seen. They look strong all over the park, Lausanne-Sport. They need a backup LB with Kablan gone but it's their only real weakness. They've got boatloads of creators and finishers, not to mention speed. For now, they've also kept hold of sought-after midfielder Sanches, which is as good as a new signing. There's a finite blend of youth and experience, and a desire to play good football that most Swiss teams don't tend to have anymore. This is a team that can push for a place in Europe next season, basically. They need to learn how to play as favourites to win matches - that's going to be their biggest hurdle. If they can do that though, and keep hold of Sanches, Sene, Szalai, and Bernede, then the world is their oyster. They're not really advanced enough to finish in the top three but a top six finish should be all but guaranteed with this group or else Magnin's head may be on the chopping block.
