The fans are absolutely thankful to coach Tamer Tuna who helped Antalya finish the season in 9th place after they were standing inside the relegation zone in January. Their cup run to the semifinals is also worth to be mentioned.
As soon as the coach arrived, he changed the formation to 4141 from 4231. Thus, some players like Jahovic, Sinan Gumus, Lukas Podolski, Fredy started to be more effective in offence zone. Since they are all fast and more suitable players to counter attacks, they did a very good job on the road, with an 8-game unbeaten away run.
They did so bad in the league between October and December. In 11 fixtures, they collected only 3 points and scored only 6 goals, which is one of the worst runs in their club history. Had they collected some points in that period, they could have found themselves around the European spots.
Coach Tamer Tuna is glad to meet the expectations of the fans and he also feels proud that he has offered the best performance in his coaching career. Although Adis Jahovic arrived in the winter transfer market, he became the top goal scorer of the team with 6 goals, but Fredy, who has produced 4 goals & 6 assists during the whole season, has been one of the most consistent players after former Belenenses man did not satisfy last season.
If the board decide to continue with coach Tamer Tuna, they have a great potential to threaten higher places. In summer, the coach will build his own squad and he already knows the current squad. Especially, they must strengthen the bench in order not to face any problem, if they face suspensions or injuries.
