Much like their fellow Serie A debutants, Carpi, Frosinone's first ever season in the Italian top flight ultimately ended in relegation but it wasn't without its fair share of good memories. Frosinone were arguably the favourites to finish rock bottom of the table after coming up as Serie B runners-up but they managed to amass 31 points and finish one place higher. It was a respectable tally considering the style of football they adopted which focused primarily on attacking under former striker, Roberto Stellone. Little attention was paid to the defensive side of the game which was ultimately Frosinone's downfall as they conceded a massive 76 goals in the league which was by far and away the highest total. Nevertheless, there is great admiration for their approach as well as the willingness of the club not to sack Stellone and bring in a "safer" and perhaps more experienced manager. Ultimately though, Frosinone's bold but naive style showed that they were out of their depth at this level. There were some highlights such as their first ever Serie A point which was memorably achieved at the home of the Champions when Leonardo Blanchard's stoppage-time header earned them a draw at Juventus Stadium. They also took a point home from the San Siro in a thrilling 3-3 draw with AC Milan towards the end of the season - a game in which they actually outplayed the Rossoneri and deserved to win. Their front-two of Daniel Ciofani and Federico Dionisi scored a combined 18 goals between them which was a very decent tally. The bottom line though was that Frosinone didn't have anywhere near enough quality or experience in their squad to survive at this level.
