Regensburg were promoted back to the second-tier at the first time of asking after defeating Wehen Wiesbaden in the play-offs last season. The Jahnelf were flying at the top of the table in December but a stuttering second-half of the campaign saw them finish in third position. American coach Joe Enochs is the man in charge and did a good job getting the side back up. His next task will be keeping them there so a busy summer of recruitment was needed. Kother, Viet, and goalkeeper Gebhardt were the pick of the bunch last season and all three remain at the club for the upcoming campaign. In addition to keeping the core of their squad together, Jahn have also made some interesting signings. Ernst and Proger can bring some extra quality to the midfield and flanks, after many years playing at this level for various clubs. Attacker Kuhlwetter is also no stranger to life in this division with previous club Heidenheim but isn't expected to be prolific in front of goal. Young duo Breunig and Ouro-Tagba are also looking to prove themselves. Regensburg were strong at the back last season so expect them to be organised under Enochs. The team has changed a lot over the past year so adjustment to the league's demands could be a weakness.
