Another side who have achieved back-to-back promotions is Preußen Munster. The club were last in the second-tier over 40 years ago so it was a massive achievement to finish second last season. The Eagles started slowly but kicked into gear after Christmas, winning 10 of their last 13 matches. The mastermind behind their success is coach Sascha Hildmann, now into his fourth year at the club. His previous managerial career wasn’t particularly successful but he has certainly got things right in Munster. Preußen were particularly strong in attack last season, scoring 68 times, the most in the division. Batmaz and Grodowski netted 38 goals between them, so it's good that the pair are both still on board for the upcoming campaign. In addition to keeping hold of their key players from last-term, Munster have also been shrewd in the transfer market with experienced heads brought in. Kirkeskov, Mees, Makridis, Hendrix, Amenyido, and Behrens have all competed at this level with previous clubs, despite many being squad players in recent seasons. The area of concern for Preußen Munster is defensively where they were vulnerable last season. The step up in class could see them struggle in that area if further reinforcements are not sought.

Target

Preußen Munster should be ready for the fight and have a squad that will compete. Staying in the division will be their main aim and they certainly have a chance at achieving that.
