Football Season Guide

NAC Breda have a really good second half of last season and were deservedly among the teams that reached the play-offs on the back of some electrifying football and general return of excitement under Peter Hyballa. They fell short against Emmen just before the play-off final but certainly have a lot of positives to build on going to the new season. The task for Hyballa now is to maintain the same sort of urgency, enthusiasm and dedication from his squad so that they can keep pace with the top teams in the standings and be in the conversation for the promotion places. The Breda side have seen a few important players wave goodbye during the summer, none more so than young jewel Ezechiel Banzuzi, who is off to Belgium. Odyseus Velenas and Thijs Velthuis are notable and important departures as well but the squad should be able to absorb them better. Clint Leemans and Boy Kemper look like the best new additions to the squad as they know the league well and should contribute massive. Czech Dominik Janosek is a bit of an unknown but should be a good player at this level. Matthew Garbett and stood out in midfield last season and he has turned his loan deal into a permanent one, which is excellent news, while the combo of Jort van der Sande and Elias Omarsson was very tough to handle up front last season and they should bring lots of goals again. Thus, NAC have the ingredients to be among the overachievers this season and really make a push for the top places even if their squad is not quite at the level of the top teams.
