Ended up finishing 11th last season; a really disappointing outcome for a very capable squad. They kept the faith in boss Hasegawa for the forthcoming season but obviously expect improvements to be made. Although the eventual finishing place was poor, they weren't far off finishing higher so only slight improvements were required. The transfer window in general has been good for the club. They've generally been able to replace any good players they've lost. For example, Schmidt has come in as a replacement for GK Langerak, although the bad news there is that Schmidt has now suffered a bad injury and will miss a substantial period of time. They've also managed to bring in Yuya Asano in midfield, as well as lure Matheus Castro back to the club following his stint in the Middle East, which improves the squad significantly. Castro's return is especially poignant with key striker Junker to miss the start of the season due to a calf strain. Most players to leave were expected players; there were no nasty surprises there. They've turned Tokumoto's loan into a permanent transfer, which was good business - he impressed last season. They've signed other potentially good additions like Miya and Sato too. Should have plenty of depth and quality this season. With the squad they've assembled, and a solid nucleus of players that were there last season, they should be able to finish higher this season. Realistically should be pushing for a top five finish but must get over the GK obstacle first, and try to get Junker fit. If firing on all cylinders, they'll have a good season.
