It was a season in which Salzburg uncharacteristically had moments in which they feared for the title, but they eventually managed to win both domestic competitions and continue their dominance.
The big news for the Red Bulls going into the campaign was that they were finally playing in the Champions League group stage. Their participation was an excellent one, as they managed to take their chances of progressing into the final round in a tough group including Liverpool and Napoli, but eventually finished third.
Apart from that, this season will be remembered for the emergence of Erling Haland as a global sensation - the young striker was scoring for fun while at Salzburg in the first half of the season and kept doing the same after joining Dortmund in the winter.
With the Norwegian sensation gone, it was time for another young star to step up in Dominik Szoboszlai, who produced some incredible performances in Salzburg's title-winning march after the break caused by the pandemic.
While the Red Bulls had some wobbles prior to the enforced break, they were next to perfect after that and eventually secured yet another title.
Despite losing Haland, they have an excellent young side more than capable of competing in Europe next season but the big question is, as always, which of their emerging stars will leave during the summer.
