Eintracht Frankfurt managed to show a slight improvement in Bundesliga places last season as they finished sixth in the table, securing qualification to Europe for a fourth straight campaign. Frankfurt will be missing three of their regular players when the season kicks off with Pacho the biggest departure as the defender completed a move to Paris Saint Germain. Jakic and Max have also left the club for Augsburg and Panathinaikos respectively while veterans Rode and Hasebe both retired at the end of last season. There have not been any significant arrivals so far though Frankfurt did manage to convert Ekitike's loan deal into a permanent move. The attacker struggled with injuries last season and coach Toppmoller will be hoping he will be available for more games this time around. Koch has also signed on a free transfer after his deal with Leeds United expired at end of last season. Frankfurt have also boosted their midfield options by bringing in Can Uzun and Krisztian Lisztes while Oscar Hojlund has also been signed though he is more of a backup option. Pacho will be a big miss though, with the defender playing more minutes in the league than any other player last season. Unless Frankfurt manage to bring in an adequate replacement in the final week of the transfer window, Buta, Koch and Tuta are expected to be the first choice defensive pairing and they are a bit light in the defense with Smolcic also sent out on loan It is at other end of the pitch that Frankfurt have struggled in recent seasons and a return of just 51 goals meant they had the worst attack of the teams that finished in the top seven last season. Toppmoller will be hoping for a better output from both Marmoush and Ekitike this season as he hopes to close the gap for a place in the top four.

Target

Frankfurt have established themselves as a top six team in the Bundesliga and another European qualification will be the aim for the club though Toppmoller will be looking to capitalize on any slipups near the top and push for a place in the top four
