Sandefjord once again pulled off a real rabbit out of the hat and managed to scrape to survival while having easily the squad with the smallest wage bill in the division. They grabbed some important wins against direct rivals late in the season and by the end their tally of 34 points was enough for them to finish tenth but still just a point clear of the relegation play-off places. The main difference compared to last season is that one of the two co-managers in the dugout, the more experience Hans-Erik Ødegaard, has left his position and left his colleague, Andreas Tegström, as the sole manager for the upcoming campaign. There could be some adjustment time needed for him and the players but still they know him quite well and he should be able to hit the ground running from early on. The Whales' squad looks quite shallow, however, a couple of weeks before the start of the season as a few pillars in the team like Frederik Bergile, Aleksandr Damjanovic and goalie Hugo Keto, have all chosen to move to other teams. Coupled with the departures of Alexander Tveter, Simon Amin and the end of Emma Markovic's loan, this rounds up to six regulars from last season who need to be replaced. In terms of new signing, Swedish winger Robin Dzabic looks ready to step up and become an important part right away but apart from that the other additions look far too raw or low on quality to be relied upon. Therefore, some reserves like Beltran Mvika, Elias Jemal, Darrenn Tibell and Marcus Melchor will have to lift their game to ensure that Sansdefjrod are not bogged down at the bottom of the standing right away. Nonetheless, it promises to be another challenging camping for the league's most modest squad but they are already used to defying the odds and staying up against expectations.

Target

Getting enough points to stay up but it will be a massive challenge.
