Strømsgodset were one of the more impressive stories last season as they maintained a very good level throughout and finished as seventh in the standings, certainly exceeding pre-season expectations. It was a case of a team maximising their potential and being very efficient and results-oriented throughout the year, relying on good defence to keep them in games and get the odd goal. Jorgen Isnes will be naturally looking to keep the same formula for the season ahead and it looks like one that should bring them good results again. The squad is pretty much the same as last year, with the exception of a new keeper in Eirik Johansen. No player of genuine importance has left the squad over the winter and thus it should be mostly the same starting 11 that consistently got good results last season. It will be interesting to see which players will make the step up this season and become more integral to the squad as some experienced old heads may well be starting their last campaigns with Godset. Nikolaj Møller showed flashes last season and will look to build on that while attacking midfielders Jonas Therkelsen and Marko Farji can also add more to their game and become mainstays in the side. Overall, there is little to worry the coach at the moment ahead of the start of the new season but he will be certainly demanding standards be kept and focus maintained for his men to be away from trouble.

Target

Maintaining the points total from last season and finish comfortably in mid-table.
