Berwick Rangers endured arguably the worst season in their 135-year history as they were relegated from the Scottish Football League.
It came in the most emphatic style following a humiliating 7-0 thrashing by Highland League Champions Cove Rangers in a two-legged relegation play-off.
The Wee Gers had looked completely out of their depth for most of the season and their horrendous form saw Robbie Horn resign in October. It got worse under successor Johnny Harvey, who won just three of 26 league games and saw his side thrashed 7-1 at Queen’s Park, 6-0 at Annan Athletic and 5-0 at Clyde.
They were unable to rely on loan players as they had in previous seasons, and the loss of key man Paul Willis proved a savage blow. He was sold to Champions Peterhead in January yet finished as leading scorer with seven goals. The emergence of defender Jack Cook from the development squad was one of few positives in a squad that was ill-equipped for life in League 2.
They were overtaken by Albion Rovers on the penultimate weekend of the season to finish bottom of the table. Harvey was unsurprisingly sacked, with the team having conceded a ridiculous 91 goals in 36 league matches, and John Brownlie was given the unenviable task of saving their cherished Football League status.
It was no surprise however when they were thrashed by the up-and-coming Toonsers and they now face an uncertain future in the Lowland League.
