BK Hacken gained a point on the final day of the season to ensure 3rd place and European football in 2021. A strong second half of the season with only 2 defeats saw them improve upon 6th place in 2019 - which is an achievement for a small club. They were dominant at home, but 9 draws on the road meant they never put in a sustained challenge to Malmo.
BK Hacken made a slow but steady start to the season as only Norrkoping raced away. A strong period in mid-season saw 5 wins in 6 matches project them into the title race only 6 points behind Malmo. However, after that a spell of only 1 win in 8 matches meant they were struggling to reach the top three. An undefeated run of 5 matches at the end of the season ensured 3rd place was achieved.
With a settled and mean defence with Berggren, Ekpolo, Lindgren and Tovio present for almost the entire season, they only conceded 29 goals. Young goalkeeper Dahlberg also excelled upon his return from abroad and replaced the injured Abrahamsson.
Midfield was settled too with Friberg, Yasin, Bengtsson and Andersson present for most of the season. Walemark made his breakthrough into the team with 21 appearances and 3 goals.
Strikers Lundberg and Soderlund struggled for goals. Soderlund claimed 8 in 23 appearances, while Lundberg only managed 1 goal in the same amount.
With more attacking ambition they could mount a more sustained title challenge in 2021.
