It was a succesful season for Elfsborg as they ended up in the second place of Allsvenskan. They created many records though as they were the team with the least number of losses this season -only 3- while even the champions Malmo had 4 losses. Also they had more draws than every other team in the league. They were drawn 15 times, meaning that half of their matches ended in a draw.
Their real strength was their performance on the road as they ended up in the first place taking into account only away matches as they have lost only twice in 15 matches and they gathered in total 25 points (Malmo got 23 points).
Jesper Karlsson was clearly the star of the team and, despite leaving with a transfer to AZ Alkmaar, he remained the top scorer of the team with 11 goals in 22 matches this season.
Also this season, Elsborg proceeded to other important achievements as the win in Gothenburg (the first one since 2003), their first win at home over Malmo since 2012. As a result they ended up second and they got a ticket for European Competitions next year. So the season can be defined as pretty succesful.
