Varberg entered the season as a newcomer with the only target to avoid relegation and remain in Allsvenskan. Since early in the season their coach had defined that the team should go to 32-34 points in order to be safe for sure. At the end Varberg gained 37 points pretty easily and they didn't face any serious relegation problems.
Astrit Seljmani was obviously the star of Varberg in their effort, scoring 15 out of a total of 45 goals that the team scored and sitting on the second place of top goalscorers' list in Allsvenskan. That's why big Swedish teams are already showing interest and probably he will not be in Varberg for the next season if the club get the money they ask for.
Despite finishing in the lower half of the league table, Varberg ended up with a positive goal difference factor (45-44) while they didn't lose a single match with more than a two-goal difference.
The only thing that Varberg should improve would be the on-the-road performance as they lost 8 out of their 15 matches played. But for a newcoming team it was clear that they would face difficulties.
In any way, though, it was a very good season for Varberg.
