Football Season Review

№12: Charlton Athletic

It is a difficult to know what to make of Charlton's campaign. They started with Bob Peeters at the helm but he was sacked after a poor run of results to be replaced by Guy Luzon. On the field fortunes have been totally mixed, nothing to write home about but nothing to cause much in the way of trouble either. It is almost as if the 2014-15 season passed Charlton by with their overall 12th spot summing up a rather boring campaign. They never really looked like play-off contenders but it was obvious from an early stage that they had a bit about them and upset a few of the bigger clubs with decent enough home form including nine wins at the Valley. There is optimism for the future in the form of some promising youngsters which included Jordan Cousins who was awarded with player of the year. Johann Berg Gudmundsson was another highlight and he weighed in with his share of goals - 11 making him joint top scorer with Igor Vetokele.
