After having a historic last season Man City topped it up this campaign with even better achievements that firmly established them as the best English team at the minute.
The Citizens not only became the first team in 10 years to defend the Premier League title, but also became the first ever side to win all 4 domestic trophies in the same season (Community Shield, League Cup, FA Cup and Premier League).
The race for the Premier League was exciting all the way and the decisive game that gave City the edge over Liverpool was the clash between the two sides at the beginning of 2019 that the Sky Blues won 2:1.
City finished the league campaign on a run of 14 consecutive wins and they were close to being near perfect this campaign. The one big pain for the players was the early exit in the Champions League, which is becoming something of a Holy Grail for City.
All these titles were won despite the fact that De Bruyne and Mendy spent most of the campaign out injured, plus last summer’s record signing Mahrez played only a fringe role.
On all the exciting attacking football and excellent campaigns for Bernardo Silva, Sterling and Aguero the one player that impressed most was centre-back Laporte. The Spaniard topped the Premier League stat sheet in 4 different categories at the end of the season.
City anxiously wait to see if they will be banned from playing in the Champions League next season, if this happens the only goal will be to again win everything available domestically.
