After enjoying a superb season of return to the top flight, LASK managed to keep hold of all of their key players and weer hoping for another positive campaign.
The Linzers ended up doing even better than expected, as they finished a clear second and even looked like having a chance of ending Salzburg's domestic dominance until late in the campaign.
They also had a rather decent European episode, as only a late goal scored by Turkish giants Besiktas denied them a famous win that would resulted in them playing in the Europa League Play-offs.
The reemergence of the Linzers as a domestic powerhouse has lead to Oliver Glasner receiving a lot of praise and their manager was eventually tempted away by German Bundesliga side Wolfsburg, where he will become manager following the end of this season.
Moreover, Glasner seems determined to take highly-rated striker Joao Victor with him to Germany and it seems that the Linzers are set to lose two men who were instrumental in them having the excellent season that they did.
While the question of who will replace Glasner is still open, LASK definitely seem likely to struggle to repeat their this season's heroics next time around. However, they have proven to be a superbly organized club over the recent years and should by no means be written off.
