Football Season Review

№10: Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace were a club in turmoil until the end of 2014. Tony Pulis jumped ship before a ball was kicked and his replacement Neil Warnock found results very difficult to come by. Warnock managed just three wins before departing at the end of the December - at that point in time the Eagles were in the relegation zone and looked in big trouble. In came Alan Pardew and instantly their results improved beyond recognition. Palace were winning games left, right and centre and before long relegation worries were a thing of the past. Pardew led Palace to a remarkable 10th place finish to the season and but for four defeats from their final six games may well have been capable of finishing as high as 8th. Yannick Bolasie was a star performer in the second half of the season and they will do will to keep a hold of him. Keeper Julian Speroni was as consistent as ever, while Jason Puncheon was the standout player, often being deployed in midfield rather than out wide.
