Champions! To say that 2016 was a remarkable season for Leicester City is a massive understatement. Avoiding relegation seemed to be their only real objective ahead of the campaign, but they managed to start strongly and unbelievably get their good run of form and results going. The Foxes led the table at the half way point and come the end of the season were a very impressive ten points clear of second placed Arsenal. Leicester's success this season was underpinned by the performance of three players in particular, Jamie Vardy, Riyad Mahrez and N'Golo Kante. Claudio Ranieri's men always worked hard to win the ball back and when they did were devastating on the counter-attack. Keeper Kasper Schmeichel and his back four also deserve a specific mention conceding just thirty six goals in thirty eight games. Leicester can now look forward to the adventure of Champions League football next season and attempting to defend their Premier League crown.
