Kasimpasa finished 5th but missed out on Europe. Despite their solid W16 D8 L14 record they couldn’t earn a place in the Euro cups. It was a season of open football with Kasimpasa combining the 4th best attack (62 goals) with the 3rd worst defence (65 goals) in the entire league. Coach Ugulu took charge only from December onward. He refused to succumb to the critics regarding his risky tactics. Instead, he kept asking his team to outscore opponents with aggressive formations and all-out-attack approach. The main stars in attack remain in the squad for now. Kara scored 14 league goals, while captain Hajradinovic provided 14 assists last season. Despite the very poor defensive stats coach Ugulu remains uninterested in acting on that front. No new defenders have been signed so far. If anything the options at the back are fewer as Porozo returned to his parent club. Age 17 Ozcan was a regular starter last season. He was inconsistent. Now a year older he’s expected to continue to start often. Another teenager Aydin (18) also will likely continue being trusted in most games. Kasimpasa are yet to actually sign a new player this summer. This should change late in the transfer window with the team expected to add bodies on loan. For now Da Costa is the only reliable centre forward as Ngoy returned to his parent club.
