Football Season Review

№8: Millwall

This will go down as an impressive season for Millwall who came so close to forcing their way into the end of season play-offs. Their campaign had started well enough under Neil Harris. But club legend Harris opted to leave in October and was replaced by Gary Rowett. A different approach helped Rowett to get the best out of Millwall and with a bit more composure, especially in front of goal, they may well have made the top six. Bartosz Bialkowski was their stand out player of the season having kept more clean sheets than any other keeper in the Championship. Considering Bialkowski was not even a first choice goalkeeper at the start of the campaign, it was a fine achievement. Elsewhere Jed Wallace was also a stand-out outfield player. Millwall may well need another striker along with quality in midfield if they are to challenge next season. But overall this was a pleasing campaign and they may well be a club on the rise.
