Football Season Review

№2: West Bromwich Albion

West Brom are back in the Premier League at the first time of asking. It was not an overly convincing campaign in Slaven Bilic's first season as manager but he got the job done in the end, despite failing to win any of their last four matches in the campaign. Albion had a large squad and were fortunate with injuries all season. It was clear from an early point in the season that West Brom had plenty of class about them. The big player for West Brom was Matheus Pereira who produced a huge number of assists and was comfortably their player of the season. Grady Diangana was also excellent on loan from West Ham but missed a fair bit of the season due to injury. West Brom probably missed a real out and out goalscorer with Charlie Austin not impressing overall after he moved to the club. Hal Robson-Kanu and Kenneth Zohore did not offer too much either in terms of consistency. Albion know they will need to strengthen further if they are to survive in the Premier League. Bilic can be satisfied by this campaign, doing the job he came in to do but not really with any style, despite flashes of brilliance.

Player of the Season: Matheus Pereira
