Aarhus had a solid but not hugely successfully last season. They finished fifth but full 15 points behind the top 3. The team reached the Danish Cup final last year too. However, they lost the final and with this missed a golden opportunity to win a trophy and qualify for Europe. Coach Uwe Rosler will be in charge for third consecutive year. The German specialist favours the 3-5-2 formation and he’s likely to predominantly use this shape into the new season too. Captain Patrick Mortensen was Aarhus’s top goalscorer yet again last season. However, he is 35-years-old now and a decline can be expected from him soon. To address that Aarhus added the vibrant teenager Richmond Gyamfi to their ranks. He’s expected to be competing with another young talent Tobias Bech for a starting role next to Mortensen. The starting goalie from last season Bailey Peacock-Farrell returned to his parent club. However, Aarhus were quick to replace him with another goalkeeper from England – Leopold Wahlstedt. The Swedish shot-stopper should be starting ahead of the 39-year-old veteran Jesper Hansen. The only other notable departure so far was that of the creative inner midfielder Magnus Knudsen. He too returned to his parent club. Aarhus are yet to sign new faces in midfield. It seems after limited use last term Rosler is happy to give both Mads Emil Madsen and Frederik Brandhof larger roles in this area during the 2024-25 season. Adding 35-year-old Henrik Dalsgaard to the back line should only make Aarhus better defensively. He is expected to partner with Frederik Tingager and Tobias Mölgaard as the main starting back trio.

Target

Hope to be good enough to secure another top 6 finish. Should stay out of the relegation battle no matter what.
