After several seasons in the second tier and even a magical year in the Premier League not that long ago Huddersfield collapsed to League One last season. With only 9 wins in 46 rounds and 2 managerial changes during the season the Terriers simply stood no chance of survival. They finished in the penultimate spot. The last few months of the season were under the German coach Breitenreiter but after failing to secure survival he left at the end of the campaign. The inexperienced Michael Duff has been appointed since and he will lead Huddersfield at the start of the new season. Despite the relegation not many major changes took place so far. A few regulars left indeed but many experienced players are still in the squad. So far the main focus this transfer window has been on adding depth in midfield. All 4 new signings completed so far play in this area. This is logical considering that the most notable departures have been playmakers Rudoni and Thomas. Antony Evans and Lasse Sørensen were among the most dominant midfielders in League One last season for their ex-teams. Now as teammates and joining the likes of Hogg and Wiles they guarantee serious possession dominance for Huddersfield in most matches. Huddersfield have an experienced back line and plenty of quality strikers. The 2023 Veikkausliiga top goalscorer Bojan Radulovic joined the Terriers only this winter. He’s expected to flourish in League One if he stays put.

Target

Hope for immediate return to the Championship. Have the squad to be in contention even for direct promotion.
