LAFC were Western Conference champions at the end of the regular season in 2024 W19 D7 L8. Had the 2nd best home record in the entire MLS last season. Yet after winning it all in 2022 and losing the MLS Final in 2023 last year the playoff run ended early. Beaten 1-2 at home in the Conference Semi by Seattle. The goal machine Denis Bouanga was the big star in attack yet again. After his 25 goals in 2023 he scored 21 last season. He’s committed to the club and a 3rd consecutive 20+ goals season can be expected. Last summer veteran Olivier Giroud joined the team too. He was still settling late last season. Now with a full pre-season behind him Giroud could become a difference maker despite his 38 years. His countryman Hugo Lloris, also 38 years old, remains the team’s captain and one of the best goalies in the entire MLS. Atuesta, Sanchez and Bogusz are the most notable departures this winter. They all have been replaced well already. Jesus, Delgado and Yeboah should be used a lot in 2025. Striker Jeremy Ebobisse is an experienced cover for Giroud. He will be starting when the veteran is resting. Continue to have very experienced and talented squad. As the age of many of the stars is advanced LAFC are fully determined to be all-in this year. They seek a return to the MLS Final.
