The best Swedish team from the 1970s and early 1980s, 4 titles in 10 years, Osters are finally back in the top flight. Their last season at Allsvenskan level was way back in 2013. Last year strong displays and 15 wins combined with just 6 defeats saw them secure direct promotion as the second-placed team in Superettan. They finished only a point behind Degerfors and achieved promotion with 2 games to spare. Had the best attack in the division, 55 goals scored, and the second-best defence, so all their metrics suggested that direct promotion was finally coming again their way. 2024 was the first year at the helm for the English manager Martin Foyston. He transformed the forward line with his progressive tactics and Osters benefited immensely. Lethal striker Alibek Aliev netted 13 goals last year and he will target another 10+ goal season this term. The main departure this winter was of the main chance creator Adam Bergmark Wiberg. He produced 13 assists in 2024 and his crosses will be missed. In all likeliness even more responsibility now will fall on the shoulders of David Seger (8 assists in 2024). The main strength of Osters should remain their left flank. The left-back Lukas Bergquist is an exciting talent. He had 7 assists or more in 2 of the last 3 years. Most of the new names added to the squad this winter are potential regulars, or at least, very good back-ups for various positions. This gives Osters depth, flexibility and stability even if injuries hit some players.

Target

The only goal is to avoid an immediate relegation. Have the squad and the depth to be hopeful.
