After winning their 1st title in 2022 and securing another top 3 finish in 2023 Hacken fell backwards further last year. Ended up only in 8th place and full 12 points adrift from the top 3. It was average form all throughout W12 D6 L12. Things in attack remained impressive. Only champions Malmo scored more than Hacken’s 54 goals. However, defensively stability was never found. Conceded 51 goals, which was the 4th worst record in 2024. The consecutive years of backward trend after the title in 2022 led to managerial change in the winter. Jens Gustafsson is the new HC, he managed Al Fateh and Pogon Szcecin most recently. He is known as a defensive specialist so hopes are his arrival will bring better stability. Hacken have been passive on the transfer market all winter though. Only 3 new signings were made so far. From them only CM Silas Andersen will be a regular starter. He was signed to replace the departed Romeo Amane. The other main departure was that of aggressive forward Ali Youssef. He will be missed. Still, both Hrstic (20) and Dembe (19) hope for larger involvements up front so they will be given more minutes. Also, the new head coach hinted that young CB Zecevic (20) is likely to become a regular starter this year. It seems that at least some of the 5 other young defenders that were out on loan last season will be added to the rotation too. Banking on so many young and inexperienced players to improve the stability is a risky move.

Target

Hope to challenge for the top 3. More likely to exist in mid-table all season.
