Malmo won another title in 2024. The champions for 4 of the last 5 years had little trouble and finished 10 points clear of everyone else. The decisive opening 2 months of the season were crucial. Malmo won 10 of their first 12 league games, after that it was easy. In the autumn could focus on their strong European campaign too, as the lead in Allsvenskan was already decisive. Had both the best attack (67) and the best defence (25) in Sweden last year, so it was pretty hard to find any faults in the team. The big squad allowed Malmo to be passive on the transfer market this winter. They still added some quality with the signings of Arnór Sigurdsson and Emmanuel Ekong. The former is seen as a direct replacement for the only departed regular Sergio Pena. Coach Henrik Rydström won the title in both his years in charge thanks to very strong opening months of the season. He will seek a similar long winning streak early on in 2025 too. The main core of players remains the same so synchrony won’t be an issue in the early rounds. Sead Haksabanovic hardly played after his arrival last August. He hopes to stay fitter this year though. If he does so Malmo will have another creative force in midfield to help their quest for a third consecutive title.

Target

As always the only goal is to win the title. Any other outcome will be seen as a failure.
