2024 was a successful year for Ceará, who won the Campeonato Cearense and achieved promotion to the Serie A of the Brasileirão after a great run in the final rounds of the league. As usual for teams that win promotion, the squad has been completely rebuilt. 19 players arrived and 18 left. Manager Léo Condé, who took over in the middle of last season, remains in charge. Ceará have had a great season so far, alive in the cup competitions and undefeated champion of the Campeonato Cearense, beating their greatest rival Fortaleza in the finals. Five regular starters left, including the team's biggest star Erick Pulga and other key players in Saulo Mineiro and David Ricardo. De Lucca and Tchoca returned to their respective teams at the end of their loan spells. Among the most notable additions are defenders Fabiano Souza, Marllon and Eder; midfielders Sobral, Araujo, Romulo; forwards Pedro Raul, Pedro Henrique, Martínez, Galeano and Fernandinho. A good mix of experienced players and others who are close to their prime but don't have much top-flight experience. Despite losing key players from last season's Série B, 'Vozão' have put together a team with a lot of physical strength and the ability to play in transition, a context they will face in most league games. They possibly have a less talented attacking sector now, but with more ability to compete considering the club's context in the top flight.
