Finished second in last season. Kept a tight race with champions Botafogo, but lost a home direct clash with Botafogo in the 36 round and could get back on top after that. Finished last-16 in both Libertadores and Brazilian Cup. Only title in last season was the not so relevant Campeonato Paulista. In 2025, Palmeiras is currently playing the final of Campeonato Paulista against arch-rivals Corinthians. So far, just 1 defeat in 13 games, including a win in Semi-finals against the other rivals São Paulo. Abel Ferreira remains ahead of Palmeiras in a record breaking 6th consecutive season as main manager. Ferreira is becoming one of the biggest icons in the club's entire history and is regarded as the teams biggest asset, ahead of any player on the squad. Palmeiras has assumed a different approach for current season. Abel Ferreira finally let go of his "close-group" of hardworking players plus youth talents emerging from academy, and brought a few very significant names to have an immediate impact on the squad. Vítor Roque coming from Barcelona is the biggest ever fee paid by a Brazilian club. Paulinho is a very strong new signing coming from a rival. These two will form a scary attacking trio with Palmeiras newest wonderkid, the 17-years old winger Estêvão. In midfield, Martinez and Evangelista are also very important new arrivals, and one of them should be a first team option alongisde Rios and Veiga. At the back, Micael arrived from MLS to be a strong competitor to the established duo from the last 3 years Murilo-Gomez. Despite the losses of some important names like Dudu, Menino, Fabinho and, most importantly, Rony, Palmeiras looks stronger than last season and possesses a strong second option for every position. The biggest problem is that the wonderkid Estêvão will only play the first 12 rounds before moving to Chelsea.

Target

Perhaps the strongest candidate for the title, in 2025.
