Football Season Review

№11: Peterborough United

Peterborough's fate since dropping back into League One was to have seasons that consist of runs during which they look like candidates for direct promotion and of runs during which they look like relegation candidates. Despite the club's decision to promote from within and name Grant McCann their manager, this season was no different, as the club legend oversaw his side have several excellent run of forms and look like decent run for a play-off place until the final third of the season, when the Posh completely collapsed and ended up far below the play-off places. Questions started to be raised about McCann's future with the club late in the season and there is a big question mark whether chairman Darragh MacAnthony would have backed McCann had it not been for his history with the club. As things stand, the former midfielder is set to continue to lead the Posh going into the next season and will be hoping to help the side make the step up and make the top six. The two big positives of the season behind us for the Posh are the emergence of Leo Da Silva Lopes and the signing of Junior Morias, who both look like players who could become key for the Posh over the next year or two.
