Eindhoven were one of the most disappointing teams last season in terms of where they were at the start, expected to be in the mix for the playoffs again while being quite exciting, to becoming a bit of a rabble that barely won a game and had all their fun taken out of them by the final couple of months. It was a really poor campaign for both Willem Weijs as a young coach and the club as a whole as they just never really found the missing pieces and ultimately just drifted away. The coach departed after just a year in charge and now Maurice Verberne was snapped up from league rivals MVV to replace him. He is a pretty good coach who made MVV over perform to quite an extent in the years he was there. Now he has a pretty similar task with a what is a squad looks a bit shallow, especially up front. New signings have been far and few so far and the two that somewhat catch the eye are Boris van Schupen, arriving from promoted NAC Breda and forward Sven Blummel, who arrives from Croatia but had worked with Verberne at MVV before. Yet that is just not quite enough to fill the gaps and raise the level of the squad and even more so after the departure of resilient defender and skipper Mawouna Amevor and of flying wing-back Jasper Dahlhaus. Ozan Kokcu is another major departure given that he was the main creator and facilitator last season. Thus, things are looking somewhat murky and even grim before the start of the season for Eindhoven unless they pull off some late signings that give them something extra.

Target

Be a bit more exciting and competitive than last season but seem destined for mid-table.
