MVV Maastricht will go with new head coach Edwin Hermans this season after they failed to reach the play-offs last term under Maurice Verberne. Forward Dailon Rocha Livramento had a breakout season for Maastricht last term as he notched 16 league goals. However, he has now been sold to Hellas Verona, meaning MVV will have to find a new goalscorer. That may come in the form of one of their new attacking additions in Sven Braken, Ayman Kassimi, Luca Foubert or Illias El Hari. One of them may look to replace Mart Remans who has joined fellow Eerste Divisie side Top Oss. The club has seen a departure in the middle of midfield as Nicky Souren has joined SC Cambuur. Stan van Dessel could be in line to replace him after joining from Belgian side Lierse. Ilano Silva Timas has been brought in as more of an attacking midfielder role from Excelsior. That will look to offset departures of Keone Maho and Tunahan Tasci. Meanwhile, there has also been some changes at the back. Leroy Labylle and Bryant Nieling are no longer at the club, and have been replaced with Simon Francis and a loan acquisition of Robyn Esajas from Fortuna Sittard. The squad revamp looks good on paper, but only time will tell how MVV will perform under a new boss.
