PSV U21 were mostly disappointing last season and too often seemed like a side playing without real purpose and energy in their game. Willy Boessen never managed to truly motivate this group of players and it was no surprise to see him leave in the summer. The new coach is an experienced one in Alfons Gronendijk, who has managed a host of clubs over the years and will look to integrate some youngsters into the squad and make PSV more of a cohesive unit overall. The squad looks pretty good at the moment as the departures have so far been limited and some key performers from last season are still around. There are also always some good additions coming from the lower age groups in the academy and there is a good chance that someone will make a real breakthrough over the course of the season. Indeed, Jordy Bawuah and Ayodele Thomas look like real prospects in the finals third with their raw speed and dribbling while Tygo Land already shown his impressive potential last season and will look to build on that and get even better. Therefore, the basis are three for PSV to do quite a lot better in terms of points and wins last season and the main aim for the new coach will be to just make the team a bit more fun and attack-focused, showcasing more of their talents.

Target

Enjoy themselves more on the pitch and show more flair and attacking quality than last year.
