Bob Peeters was relieved of his duties as head coach at Helmond Sport last term following a mediocre campaign. Kevin Hofland replaced him in March, as he saw out a mid-table finish. He will now enter his first full season in charge at the club. There have been many changes to the squad over the summer, and this season will prove to be a new-look Helmond. Last season’s regulars Martijn Kaars, Pius Kratschmer, Giannis-Fivos Botos, Bram van Vlerken, Joseph Amuzu and Doke Schmidt have all left the club. Squad players who saw a fair amount of game time like Arno Van Keilegom, Hakon Lorentzen, Joeri Schroijen, Peter van Ooijen, Mees Kreekels, Michael Chacon and Lucas Vankerkhoven have all departed, too. As a result, there have been many additions to the team. Amir Absalem, Tobias Pachonik and Jonas Scholz will bolster the defensive ranks, with the former having good Dutch football experience already. Mohammed Amin Doudah, who missed large parts of the last campaign due to injury, has completed a full transfer from KV Mechelen. Meanwhile, Lennerd Daneels and Dario Sits will provide some more options offensively. Having lost goalkeepers Robin Mantel and Ramon ten Hove, Tom Hendriks and Kevin Aben have been brought in to replace them. One player who has stayed, though, is the club’s Player of the Season Flor van den Eynden. He will be a key piece at the back once more.

Target

Minimum is to retain a mid-table finish, but have hopes of being in with a chance of the play-offs.
